Pattie Ryan-Perkins has been painting with watercolors for two decades. She enjoys the versatility watercolor provides and applies new techniques to keep her work fresh and appealing. Her paintings are carefree with a strong emphasis on color.

Pat paints and teaches classes out of her home studio in Stratham. Pat's work is inspired by Dutch master Johannes Vermeer, American portrait painter, John Singer Sargent, and American realist painter Edward Hopper. Historic New England, gardens, and children are her favorite subjects.Pat's work is displayed in many collections. Her work can currently be seen at the York Decorator Showhouse in York Maine. She also exhibits at a variety of venues throughout New England, including the Seacoast Family YMCA Artsource Auction, The Fuller Gardens' Garden Party, Stratham Fair Fine Arts and Crafts Tent, the Beacon Hill (Boston) Art Walk, and sidewalk shows in Portland and S. Portland, Maine. For many years, she studied under her father, Don Ryan, a student of the Worcester Art Museum and well-known shoe designer, and was always encouraged by her mother, Pat, an interior designer. She has studied with Doris Rice for many years, took some workshops with Dustan Knight, Carlton Plummer of Maine, as well as Wendy Turner and the late Vat Thelin.

In addition to some commissioned and commercial painting, Pat's work includes illustrating the New England Weekender's Calendar (1997-2000) and also participating in the Families First calendars.
